First taste of Love (Part 4)

Rohan looked away and gave me a moment to correct my dress. I looked at my father in his age old scooter staring at me as if he had found his daughter selling fish in the fish market almost showing the globes from her tight blouse. No, chuck it. Umm let me try once again. He stared at me as if i was grinding my hips like a stripper. Yeah, this is more like it.

I quickly got up and acted as if Rohan was a complete stranger who had helped me. "Thank you Stranger. It is so kind of you to help a fallen girl on the road. The girl, who is sick, her nose was bleeding this morning." I know i acted really stupid but i screamed this out and thanked him.

Rohan looked puzzle at me. "Thank you Stranger, by the way, that is my father." i added. My dad's attention was diverted and he asked me about my nose and then the fall. No, it wasn't so easy. Rohan the great guy, confessed to my father that i was in trouble only because of him.

He had narrated the whole incidence honestly. Well, then i realized that it wasn't that bad after all.We were studying in the same class. "Why did you call him Stranger?" my father questioned. "Because.. i don't want to see him again! He is responsible for this. I pointed at my nose and then my hurt knee." My father made sure that i was taken back home. He let go of Rohan, after he apologized. "That is ok. Mistakes happen. She is very hurt that's why the anger. Well, you don't worry. You may leave now." consoled my father,

We parted ways, Rohan looked at me with puppy eyes. I winked at him and mouthed, "I am okay." He smiled and looked at me until i turn and looked away.

Well, that is how we became friends.

I had to rush home, face mom and her reactions about my fall and the nose bleed. I had to wait for the whole night to finish and wait for the morning just to meet Anandi and narrate this event to her. Even now, we don't miss to mention this story and laugh our hearts out.

It's so much fun to recall the first crush stories and our teenage stupidities when we are grown ups. I feel grateful that i have being through this. We created memories. We have something to recall and laugh about.

The next day at the school was fun. I was no more the plain jane. I was the Rohan's cough cough.. Friend Ritika. I ha guys glancing at me. I loved the attention. Well, who would not? I had tried to shape my eyebrows myself. I remember i had tried it with my father's blade. I looked awful! My mother still recalls and warns me about it.

Rohan couldn't understand nor get much of a difference. He did mention that i looked different. 'Nice different or bad different?' i had asked for which he had smiled and replied, 'Weird way different.' i wish i had being angry at him back then. He would have corrected his mistake of being very straight forward at least.

I asked him this morning, 'Honey how do i look?' he said i looked a little fatter than before. Such a rude ass at times!
