THE 7 TYPES OF PEOPLE YOU MEET WHILE TRAVELLING IN INDIA
I often hear people discussing about their
love for travelling. While on such an interesting conversation with a gora
friend of mine, from New York I thought of penning down on the different types
of people I met while travelling in train in India.
1. The
third gender
You are entitled to give them some amount.
If you are a man and you don’t wish to give them the little bucks that they
demand, get ready to be verbally abused. It’s just a little amount from your
big earning. They are not always aggressive but if you are someone who has
difficulties in accepting someone who is different from you, you are in
trouble! You better keep a note of ten ready and seek some genuine blessings
from them!
2. The
cheapo guy!
You can still escape the above category but
not the piercing dirty gaze of this starer. It is no wonder that he would
start singing loudly with a creepy smile or get up trying to adjust his already
sinking to knee pants! He is the one who passes nasty comments or his gaze
alone is enough to make you feel nauseated.
3. The
picnic family
Usually a happy looking family who consider
the train as their new home until their journey gets over. They carry the
blankets, tiffin boxes, water and tissues. They already have their bags hung
on the little hook at the side. They have already opened their home made lunch
box.
4. The
vendors
These are life savers to many at the
moment. You are already experiencing hunger pangs, the yummy smelling lunch of
the picnic family increases your hunger but the lady is already giving you
dirty looks and her husband is already planning to punch your face for starring
for long at their tiffin box! That is when the vendors save your life. The chai
chai chai sounds like the music to your ears!
5. I
don’t give a damn
There lies a mysterious man on top. Yes he
has already occupied the place which was originally allotted for your luggage.
You haven’t seen his face and probably you will have to wait until he plans a
toilet trip. He shuts himself from his surroundings and sleeps turning away.
6. The
naughty kid
He is the one who is enjoying his journey
the most. It’s probably his first train journey. He loves the structure of the
train; he loves the fact that there are too many people with him. He loves to
eat at every stop. He has already carried on a hello didi, hello bhaiya kind of
a conversation by now. His parents keep teaching him the good manners. “Say
thank you!” Is the commonly used phrase by his mother? Then yes that’s him.
7. The
hippie
She might have already read the bhagavad
gita more number of times than any of us. She is dressed in typical loose pants
which resembles our Indian Patiyala pants. She carries an insanely huge bag.
She has learnt the word, “Namaste” and is already in love with India. For some
sadistic reason the hippies love the poverty of India. She has captured all of
that in her costly camera.
